Well 2016 is here and just as everyone is making a new year resolution so also some should be making a tech resolution or perhaps "laptop buying resolution." Lol.
This post assumes that you are already planning on getting a new laptop this year. If this is correct then here is a guide on some things you should avoid when buying a laptop or let's say some kind of laptops you should not buy.
This post assumes that you are already planning on getting a new laptop this year. If this is correct then here is a guide on some things you should avoid when buying a laptop or let's say some kind of laptops you should not buy.
1. NO WINDOWS XP
Ask me of the most rugged operating system I've ever used and my response will be WINDOWS XP. But the world has really moved on so you should too. Funny enough, I still have windows XP installed on one of my desktop computer in the office having it on a laptop is like nightmare to me. So anything from Windows 7 premium to the latest Windows 10 does it for me.
2. 1GB OF RAM IS POOR
Well having a 1GB is the basic for running OS like windows 7 and some applications like video editing software but does this really get the job done? Well perhaps but don't expect a snappy performance during hardcore tasks. Anything from 3GB does it for me.
3. NO WIRELESS CONNECTION?
You've got to be kidding me. See, there are some heavy applications you can only comfortably download when using WI-FI. Also, I'm sure you love free lunch so in this jet age where schools are equipped with free Internet connections you don't have WI-FI? Well you could get a wireless adapter but inbuilt is still my favourite.
4. POOR BATTERY LIFE?
Put simply, a laptop without good battery life is useless. Now I don't go for anything less than 6 hours. I'm not greedy but stating the obvious.

5. INTEL IS INTEL
I know that the two major processors are Intel and AMD processor. Well I'm not trying to favour anyone here but my favourite happens to be Intel processors. My reason is not far from the fact that Intel processors run cool unlike AMD processor that gives up heat during hard tasks.
These are the few I can mention for now. The choice is yours. Happy new year.
