[OTA file] Install Android 6.0 Marshmallow Beta on Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge


The Android 6.0 Beta is already seeding out on Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge. However, the beta-testing program as gone public that anyone can test the beta Marshmallow firmware before the official launch. With this, you’ll get updated with the latest build of marshmallow after signing up for the beta-test program.


Already, the best-testing program as started rolling out on UK brands Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge with model numbers SM-G920F and SM-G925F respectively, and the firmware comes in form of 1.2GB download which brings about some changes.

How to Install Android 6.0 Beta on Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge?

Step 1: Download and install Samsung Galaxy USB drivers from here to your PC

Step 2: Enable USB debugging on Samsung Galaxy S6 SM-G920F. To enable, simply go to settings >> Developers option, and enable from there. If the developers option isn’t visible, then go to About Phone under settings, and scroll down to Build number, then tap up to 7 times, till you get a message saying you’re now a developer. Now, go back to settings >> developers option and enable USB debugging.

Step 3: After that, download Samsung Galaxy S6 or Galaxy S6 Edge BTU firmware from the links provided above and extract the zip folder to desktop screen of your computer.

Step 4: After that, Boot your Galaxy S6 SM-G920F or Galaxy S6 Edge into Download Mode. To perform the operation, you have to power off your device and then press, Volume Down + Power + Home. Press Volume Up now to continue to Download Mode.

Step 5: Once your device is in download mode, simply connect the phone to your PC via the use of USB cable and the ODIN application would notify an added message. You should see a blue box on the ODIN screen if all drivers are installed properly, if not, re-install and reboot PC.

Step 6: After that, choose AP in Odin and select the firmware file with .tar.md5 extension in which you have downloaded. Also endeavor that the re-partition is not ticked in the odin.

Also note that, AP stands for PDA, BL stands for Bootloader and CP stands for Modem.

Step 7: Finally, click on the start button, and the process would begin immediately. Once the process is completed, you would notice the RESET or PASS message on the ODIN screen. Then your device would boot into recovery mode, and the device would be restarted automatically.


Step 8: You’re almost done, simply download the Galaxy Care APK application from the link provided above and install on your device. Launch the app, and tap “Join” to follow-up on the beta-program, and then tap on the registration button, which after 24hours you’ll be provided with the beta marshmallow firmware via software updates.
