How to Root Galaxy S6 SM-G920I using Odin


Galaxy S6 is an android device that runs on Android 5.0.2 lollipop (upgradeable to 5.1.1 Lollipop)  from the box and powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core CPU, Exynos 7420 chipset, Mali-T760MP8 GPU coupled with a 3GB RAM and a 32GB-128GB internal storage memory. 


Assuming you’ve gotten your own copy of the Galaxy S6, the best means to improve the device experience is by rooting the device. However, this would create room for administrative option on your device.

In this guide, I would briefly walk you through the process on how to root Samsung Galaxy S6 smartphone.


How to Root Samsung Galaxy S6

Step 1: Download and install Samsung Galaxy S6 drivers from here, to your PC

Step 2: Enable USB debugging on Samsung Galaxy S6. To enable, simply go to settings >> Developers option, and enable from there. If the developers option isn’t visible, then go to About Phone under settings, and scroll down to Build number, then tap up to 7 times, till you get a message saying you’re now a developer. Now, go back to settings >> developers option and enable USB debugging.

Step 3: After that, download CF-Autoroot Zip from here, and unzip the file, then move to the desktop screen of your computer for easy access.

Step 4: After that, Boot your Galaxy S6 into Download Mode. To perform the operation, you have to power off your device and then press, Volume Down + Power + Home. Press Volume Up now to continue to Download Mode.

Step 5: Once your device is in download mode, simply connect the phone to your PC via the use of USB cable and the ODIN application would notify an added message.

Step 6: After that, choose AP in Odin and select the CF-autoroot file in which you have downloaded, the .tar extension. Also endeavor that the re-partition is not ticked in the odin.

Step 7: Finally, click on the start button, and the process would begin immediately. Once the process is completed, you would notice the RESET or PASS message on the ODIN screen. Then your device would boot into recovery mode, and the device would be restarted automatically.
