How to Update T-Mobile LG G4 to Android 6.0 Marshmallow


Few days back, LG G4 H815 was officially ported to Android 6.0 Marshmallow, which I did explained how you can manually install Android 6.0 Marshmallow on LG G4 H815 device. However, Android 6.0 Marshmallow is now made available for T-Mobile LG G4 Variants.


In this guide, I would walk you through the process on how you can manually install the official Android 6.0 Marshmallow on your T-Mobile LG G4.

Below, we’ve 3 listed official ROM that is based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, and these ROMS are ported stock ROMS from the official release of the stock 20A firmware of the international variant.

However, the ROMS are TWRP flashable and comes pre-rooted, but in case you lose root access during the process, you can easily root the T-Mobile LG G4 on Android 6.0 Marshmallow here. Simply make use of root checker to verify root access before you root.


Before you proceed:
1.       Make sure that you’ve taken full backup of your data.
2.       Also make sure that you’ve installed TWRP Recovery on your LG G4. Read guide on how to install TWRP Recovery on LG G4.
3.       Endeavour to apply the below process on only T-Mobile LG G4.

How to Install Android 6.0 Marshmallow on T-Mobile LG G4

1.       Firstly, download any of the below Android 6.0 Marshmallow Stock firmware. Don’t extract, simply move to the internal memory of your device.

2.       After that, boot your LG G4 to recovery mode. To boot, simply press and hold Volume Down button + press Power button together, till you get to recovery mode.

3.       Now, perform a full system wipe (Wipe Data/Factory Reset, Wipe Cache Partition and then Wipe Dalvik Cache/ART cache from advanced section).

4.       After that, go back to recovery main menu, select install, and locate the stock firmware you downloaded in step 1, then install.

5.       Once you’ve installed the file, go to recovery menu and reboot your device. The first reboot process would take some while.

6.       That’s it; you’ll begin to experience Android 6.0 Marshmallow on T-Mobile LG G4.
