How to Install Android 5.1 Lollipop OTA Firmware Update on Moto X 2014 (XT1092)


Android 5.1 Lollipop update is now available for 2nd Gen Moto X 2014 (XT1092). This update brings lot of improvements, better features, easy control, better interface, enhanced device protection, OEM unlock option under Developer Options and lots of bug fixes.

Previously, I published a guide on how to install CM12.1 Android 5.1 lollipop on Moto X 2013, Today’s stroll, I would brief you guys on how to manually install the update on your Moto X 2014 (XT1092).



Before you proceed, go to Settings >> About phone and below the system version check for the region. If the region is “reteu”, then you can proceed. This guide works for Non-rooted Moto X 2014 device only.

Build number: LPE23.32-25.1

NB: Using backup tools for android, backup your data, to avoid loss.

Install Android 5.1 Lollipop OTA Firmware Update on Moto X 2014 (XT1092)

1.       First download the OTA Update Zip file from here and move to your device internal memory.
2.       Next, power off your device, and boot to recovery mode (simply press and hold Volume Down button + press Power button).
3.       After that, go to the recover main menu, then choose install ZIP from SD Card, then select the OTA Update Zip file (Blur_Version.22.121.1.victara_reteu.reteuall.en.EU .zip) and install immediately.
4.       Once the installation process is completed, simply go back main recovery menu and tap on Reboot system, and your device would be rebooted.

Once your Moto X 2014 is successfully rebooted, then you would notice the new experience of Android 5.1 Lollipop on your device with much amazing features.
